2011 Charity - Citizens for Humane Action Animal Shelter
Giving isn't only about donating money or putting in time or manual labor. It's also about advocacy, providing a voice and manpower to promote awareness for anyone or anything that is less fortunate - be it children, adults, or our four-legged friends.
Sally and Steve Geraghty strongly believe in the efforts of the Citizens for Humane Action (CHA) Animal Shelter, where they adopted their dog, Emme, in 2005 and two kittens, Patch and Watson, in 2011. Steve started Champions of Hope to help provide a means to raise awareness about organizations such as CHA and currently sits on their Board of Directors. CHA's mission is to serve the people and animals of Central Ohio by providing safe, temporary shelter and care for abandoned or otherwise homeless cats and dogs, and to reduce pet overpopulation by means of spay and neuter, education and community outreach. Located near Westerville, they have been operating since 1975. Money raised at the Annual Gathering for Giving will help to fund shelter operations.
